I’m also a board member, a volunteer, an Explorer, a beekeeper, culture-seeker, osprey steward with the Audubon, and a hopelessly devoted traveler. I’m Nancy Moon, and I want to share my experience as a guide on your journey to the perfect media message. I’m passionate about creating media attention for consumer products, businesses, philanthropic organizations and events that establish one-of-a-kind ideas in the distinct mind of your target audience. It’s a pleasure to have you visit Moon PR.
Founded in 1992, Moon PR has garnered attention for bringing creative and effective media attention to high profile clients and their involvement with social and philanthropic causes. From Fortune 500 companies to grass roots charitable efforts, my media expertise, enthusiasm, and flair for finding the spotlight has shaped thousands of entertainment, sports, music, and special events.
am a communicator, connector, an idea catalyst, a voracious reader, and a photographer.
As my career marched forward, I became agency of record for Microsoft Corporation in New York for three years, providing support to the Director of Corporate and Public Affairs. Here we brought “the big idea” to small business owners - an inspiring feat that allowed me to connect Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer to speak in New York and select top nonprofits in NYC for Microsoft to partner with. I connected my then-client Microsoft with the Explorer's Club for BioBlitz in Central Park, where Microsoft created software for scientists to cultivate an ambitious catalog of the various plant and animal life in Central Park, a truly amazing and fulfilling experience.
I began my early career as a freelancer at ABC Sports and after working on the 1984 Olympic Games in both Sarajevo and Los Angeles, I joined Madison Square Garden, creating successful and expansive media attention that led me to becoming the Director of Communications.
With the exception of The Rangers and The Knicks, which were handled by another fabulous team, my catalog of work includes 500 concerts, tennis, every trade show the Garden created, Westminster Dog Show, National Horse Show, track meets, major sporting events, and let’s not forget conducting the arrival of his holiness the Dalai Lama for a week.
My passion for social effort radiates in my involvement with various charity, cultural, and philanthropic causes including VoteRunLead and MakerBot Industries (supporting the efforts of JHoward PR), Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic hosted by Eli Manning, the Lower East Side Service Center, Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, China Institute Executive Summit, and the crème de la crème - my nearly three decades-long work with the prestigious Hampton Classic Horse Show thanks to Classic Communications. In the past and presently, I’ve held seats on various boards: namely a 12-year tenure on the board of the Aspetuck Land Trust in Connecticut, The New York Wild Film Festival, and 15 years on the board of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, who along with the New York Women’s Agenda honored me with a Galaxy Award for my contributions.
hough I reside in Connecticut, my mind and heart remain firmly in the excitement of the media capital of the world, New York. When I’m not planning my next overseas adventure or hanging out with my beehives, I’m dreaming of sharing new and exciting ideas with the world - your ideas! Whether you’re just starting with a quick consultation, or you want a full gust of wind beneath your wings, I can provide the support and knowledge to your team and help get your company voice out to the world. Come share my passion, enthusiasm, and unique vision and work together to distinguish your message in today’s exhilarating media landscape.
